Contact form
If you write to us through the contact form, we process the data provided (name, company, email address, topic, message) solely to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR.
Ask KAI (AI assistant on this website)
When you use the Ask KAI assistant, we send the question you type, a random device identifier and the page you are on to an AI service (Google Gemini via the Lovable AI Gateway) in order to generate an answer from the content of this website. The device identifier is stored locally in your browser only and serves to limit usage to 15 questions per day (abuse protection). We store question and answer for quality assurance and abuse prevention for a maximum of 90 days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functioning, abuse-resistant information service under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; use is voluntary and only starts when you type. Please do not enter personal or confidential data in the assistant. The contact form is separate: your form data is never sent to the AI service.
Retention
Enquiries are deleted once they have been dealt with conclusively and no statutory retention obligations apply.
Hosting and server log files
This website is operated by a service provider acting as a processor under a contract pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. When you access the site, technical access data is processed automatically: shortened or full IP address, date and time, requested page, amount of data transferred, browser type and operating system and, where applicable, the referring page. The purpose is technical operation, stability and protection against attacks; the legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. These log entries are not merged with other data sources and are generally deleted after no more than 30 days, unless they are needed to investigate a specific security incident.
Fonts
All fonts are served from our own server. No connection to Google Fonts or other external providers is established and no data is transmitted to third parties.
Transfers to third countries
A transfer to third countries only takes place if you use the Ask KAI assistant: your question is then processed by a service that may use servers outside the EU (USA). This is based on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or a certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, complemented by contractual and technical safeguards. If you do not use the assistant, this transfer does not occur. Please note that despite these measures, a level of data protection fully identical to the EU cannot be guaranteed in third countries.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Complaints can be addressed to the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
Cookies and tracking
This website currently uses no analytics or marketing cookies. Via the consent notice you can allow or decline the “Analytics” and “Marketing” categories in advance; such services are only loaded after your consent. Your decision is stored locally in your browser only (localStorage entry “kaihito-consent”, without personal data and without transmission to us). You can change or withdraw it at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
